Admin Assistant (Schumacher College) x2

1 Fixed Term Contract until 31st January 2013
1 Permanent position
Start Date: 1st April 2012 (preferable)

These are two new posts and part of the reorganisation of the College. The posts will be line managed by the Operations Co-ordinator who was previously the Short Course administrator and the welcoming “face” in the College office. This experience and knowledge of the College procedures will be most helpful with the induction of the new post holders.

Schumacher College is a very special place to work and being a small organisation there is a great deal of team work and multi tasking. People do not stand on ceremony and all who work there are expected to “fill in” as and when necessary. All staff are part of the daily work teams which includes clearing up after meals, cooking, cleaning or gardening. It is a great way to get to know the community and this sense of community is very strong and includes the staff, the students and the volunteers.

The two admin posts have been brought together for the first time in order that roles can be flexible so that each post holder can do the tasks of their colleague. The key responsibilities will be the support to the Short Course programme, the Vocational courses and the Masters courses. These posts will be lined managed by the Operations Co-ordinator who will provide support and guidance to ensure that the work is prioritised.

The successful candidates will need to have excellent organisational and communication skills and an interest in the work of Schumacher College.
