About Dartington
The Dartington Photography Competition - Terms and Conditions
- By entering this competition you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions set out below.
- Entries must be received by 5.00pm on 10th July 2009. Any entries received after that date will not be considered. The Dartington Hall Trust does not accept any responsibility for entries lost or delayed in the post. Proof of sending is not
proof of receipt.
- The competition is open to anyone over the age of 18 based in the South West
except for employees of The Dartington Hall Trust and Visit South Devon – or
anyone associated with members of the judging panel.
- Entries will only be accepted in print or electronic format. Email entries will not
be considered. Entries to be sent to Photographer of the Year, Communications
Office, The Dartington Hall Trust, The Elmhirst Centre, Dartington Hall, Totnes, Devon, TQ9 5EL.
- A judging panel including a local professional will decide the 6 semi-finalists and
the overall winner. Their decision will be final and no correspondence will be
entered into.
- The 6 semi-finalists and the 2 overall winners will de decided within 7 days of the
closing date and semi-final date.
- Each finalist with receive a £2500 bursary to photograph the work of all departments of The Dartington Hall Trust and/or promotional regional images for Visit South Devon. Both bursaries will run between August 2009 and July 2010 with reasonable travel, food and accommodation paid, subject to prior agreement by The Dartington Hall Trust or Visit South Devon. Free access to all events and performances for photography purposes for the winner. The bursary winner, The Dartington Hall Trust and Visit South Devon will hold equal rights to any and all images created out of the bursary prize.
- The Dartington Hall Trust will notify the Winner within one week of the final decision.
- By entering this competition, you confirm that you will be able to commit to the terms of the residency. Any bursary offered will be paid monthly in arrears. Monies will not be paid for any uncompleted days. The bursary does not constitute a contract of employment between you and The Dartington Hall Trust.
- Unless otherwise stated, The Dartington Hall Trust reserves the right to substitute any prize for an acceptable value alternative. This is at The Dartington Hall Trust’s discretion. There will be no cash alternative.
- By submitting images to the competition, you give The Dartington Hall Trust and Visit South Devon unlimited rights to reproduce your images across all medias at no cost.
- You will retain copyright in all your images and all images reproduced will be credited with your name and area.
- The Competition is organised by The Dartington Hall Trust, a registered Charity. Registered office The Elmhirst Centre, Dartington, Totnes, Devon, TQ9 6EL.
The Dartington Hall Trust will use your details for the purpose of running this competition and will not pass on your personal details to any other organisation.
