Commercial papers of Dartington Hall Ltd and its subsidiaries including Dartington Woodlands Ltd; Dartington Farms Ltd; Dartington Orchards Ltd; the poultry, grounds and gardens, and vegetables departments; Sawmill and Textiles Departments; and Shinners Bridge retail shop and craft studio. In addition there are records of at least two independent limited companies started originally by trustees of Dartington Hall but managed and operated separately from Dartington Hall Ltd. These are Staverton Builders Ltd (and subsidiaries) and Churston Development Company Ltd. There is in addition a small body of records relating to the work of the Rural Industries Bureau in Devon. These records were accumulated by architect and craftsman Rex Gardner in the 1930s.
