Leonard Elmhirst's records relating to Maurice Browne Ltd, a theatrical company of which he, his wife Dorothy Elmhirst, and Fred Gwatkin, were directors. Records include correspondence, 1927-1956 (including Clifford Hamilton and Ellen van Volkenburg); a diary, 1953; Clovelly-Kepplestone records, minutes and correspondence, 1929-1934. There are also financial records showing income from the play, 'Journey's End', Jan 1929-Mar 1930. Other records relating to 'Journey's End' include London Theatre Company correspondence, 1931-1932; Royal Court Theatre correspondence; and Daly's Theatre correspondence. There are letters about theatre productions of 'Wings over Europe'; various publications; press cuttings about the Maurice Browne productions of 'Othello' and 'Badger's Green'; and obituaries for Maurice Browne and playwright R C Sherriff. Miscellaneous artifacts include a plaster model of the original set design for 'Journey's End.'
