Subjects include British and American prisons and prisoners as viewed by Rolph, a former inmate of Dartmoor Prison, living in a basement flat in Notting Hill, London. Includes Rolph's observations of those around him including an artist named Kim Won [Wan] and a prostitute named Jonie. Also includes a manuscript by Rolph describing time spent in Joliet Correctional Center, Illinois.
