“Giving children a voice”

The concept of Odd Socks came from 11 yr old Saskia who wanted to know why there wasn’t any support given for children by children whose parents were separating. She sent her mum (who co-runs a web-based project that supports mums and dads who are going through separation — onlymums.org and onlydads.org) an e-mail asking the simple question: ‘what about the children’? Saskia then got together with her friends Priya and Anya and together Odd Socks was born.

The essential idea behind Odd Socks is that it will give young people of separating and divorced parents a voice and an opportunity for them to tell other young people how it is or was for them, to offer them webbased support and guidance in a safe and professionally supported environment.
