South West Music School - 2009/10 Applications are Now Open!

South West Music School (SWMS) is part of a national network of Centres of Advanced Training supported by the Department for Children, Schools & Families Music and Dance Scheme for exceptionally talented young musicians aged between 8 and 18.

We are a virtual school, not based in one location, working across the whole region. Through our 3 stream programme, students receive mentoring, individual tuition and residential opportunities. The key is that students determine their programme so that we can cultivate their ideas, potential and talent.

Our programme is inclusive ranging from Reggae to Rock, Folk to Flamenco and Bach to Bhangra. Open to all regardless of musical or personal background.

2009/10 APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!

South West Music School is going into its third year and has 19 places available. We are looking for young musicians with a sense of considerable authority and clarity; stylish and who are musically informed. Candidates must be between the ages of 8 – 16, have high levels of musicianship, talent and/or potential and be a committed individual.

We run a two-stage application process, which will be informal and friendly. The first is an application form and recording and the second is an audition day.
