PROJECT OVERVIEW
STEPHAN KOPLOWITZ: TASKFORCE is a new site-art touring dance company. Fluid in its conception TaskForce brings together new partners and collaborating artists for each location to build creative networks that span the globe. Its current project, Liquid Landscapes, is a three-year triptych based on the theme of water that began in Los Angeles, California in 2008. Under the direction of award winning US-based site artist Stephan Koplowitz, eight adventurous UK and US dancers, UK composer and performer Hugh Nankivell, US filmmaker Gorav Kalyan, and a host of invited local artists, TaskForce comes to the Plymouth area this summer converging on eight historically, culturally and ecologically significant water-related sites. After three weeks of intensive research, rehearsal and experimentation, TaskForce will perform eight different site-specific works throughout the region from 20-28 June 2009, before moving to a third European city in 2010.
