Based on 1,200 acres of beautiful parkland outside Totnes in South Devon, Dartington Estate is a historic visitor destination, events venue and thriving community of businesses, colleges and more. Our gates are open 365 days a year and it is free to visit.
Centred around the medieval Great Hall, Courtyard and Grade II* Listed Gardens, there is so much to see and do for everyone at Dartington – from fabulous food & drink to Deer Park trails and family activities; live music, theatre and cinema to outdoor pursuits and children’s playgrounds; accommodation offers from B&B in the Grade 1 Listed Courtyard to hostel rooms, glamping and camping. We also host weddings and conferences.

Barn Cinema
A taut, stylish and unnerving psychological thriller Mother’s Instinct is showing at the Barn Cinema until 23 April and an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride through a fractured America balanced on a razor’s edge with Civil War is on until 29 April.
Thrive
The much-loved annual Thrive event returns for late May Bank Holiday weekend. Now in its third joyful year, Thrive 2024 will consist of two stunning Indian classical concerts in the Great Hall curated by tabla maestro, Sanju Sahai: Kathak Dance and Morning Ragas.

Get a free glass of bubbly with your fish supper at “Fizz ‘n Chips Fridays”, enjoy our 2 for £20 meal deal served Monday – Friday between 12 and 3pm or join us for a delicious Sunday Roast from 12 noon every Sunday afternoon.

We can’t wait to host beloved British comedy icon, Caroline Quentin, in the Great Hall on 9 March, for an evening devoted to horticultural hilarity, love, and the therapeutic power of tending the soil beneath our feet. There’ll also be an opportunity to pick-up a signed copy of her latest book ‘Drawn to the Garden’, mixing heart-warming personal stories with gardening tips and delicious recipes. A magical Alice in Wonderland light trail is coming to the gardens this Easter!

Work is well and truly underway at our historic Walled Garden to make this space productive and accessible again. Over five tonnes of concrete blocks and hundreds of rotten railway sleepers are being replaced to make way for new paths and seating areas.
Despite looking uprooted in its current phase of construction, we're excited to share that the garden will soon be growing a wide range of vegetables, cut flowers and ornamental displays, for the public to be able to enjoy on a visit to the Grade II* Listed Gardens.
Thanks to a generous donation, we have been able to start work on this space, and we hope to have it available for event hire later in the year.
