In addition to fantastic music, HOME also provides a whole host of extra activities for all ages:
- Food & Drink
- Family Activities and Facilities
- Workshops
- The Site
- Information for Traders
- Volunteering
- Social Networks
- Feedback
Food & Drink
A range of delicious food and drink options will be on offer at this year’s festival. A mouth-watering choice of international cuisine may be purchased from the White Hart, a range of outdoor stalls, and the Roundhouse Cafe. Where possible ingredients are sourced locally. Vegetarian and vegan options will be available. The bars will also stock a range of local ales and ciders for the grown-ups!
Family Activities and Facilities
Throughout the Saturday drop-in family activities will take place in the family zone. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. The Dartington Discovery Trail will return, along with other special workshops throughout the day.
Baby Change facilities are provided in the East Wing and in Lower Close.
A Lost and Found children point will be clearly sign posted and visible on site maps. Our friendly festival team of staff and volunteers will be on hand to help ensure families are reunited as soon as possible.
Buggies and pushchairs can’t enter the Great Hall, but a buggy park will be available, which you are welcome to use at your own risk.
Workshops
Once again throughout the day there will be a series of workshops and opportunities to participate. Further information will be announced closer to the event.
The Site
There may be times when a one-in-one-out policy applies for indoor venues including the Great Hall due to capacity. The best way to get a good place is to get there early – for each act doors will open 15-20 minutes before stage time. On opening the doors stewards will give priority access to families and disabled festival-goers. To take advantage of this please arrive 20 minutes before the scheduled performance time and make yourself known to the front of house manager.
The Great Hall has a seated balcony (which usually fills up very quickly). Downstairs there is limited bench and window seating, the rest of the hall is standing.
Due to the acoustic nature of HOME we need to be particularly sensitive to extraneous noise in and around the Great Hall during sets. Please don’t be offended if stewards ask you to move on when you’re around the Hall during sets, to a place where you can make all the noise you want!
All festival venues are accessible by wheelchair. The Great Hall and Barn both have hearing loops.
If you need any assistance at any time during your festival visit please make yourselves known to one of the stewards.

It would not be possible to deliver the HOME festival without the support of volunteers. If you would like to volunteer to be involved please contact Sarah Lawrence – Volunteer Coordinator, Tel: 01803 847082 e-mail: sarah.lawrence@dartington.org
Social Networks
Please do add your photographs, comments and videos from Home to Dartington’s facebook profile and flick-r stream. If you’re a twitter user note our hashtag #homefest12 and make sure you follow @DartingtonHall as we’ll post all the latest information, updates and news there too.
Feedback
Your feedback is important to us. If you have comments on the day do let a member of staff know. A feedback book will also be available.
After the festival a short questionnaire will be dropping into your inbox. Do look out for it – your feedback will help us shape future HOME festivals and events.
