Thank you interrogaters

What a great time everyone had at the Happiness! Festival – so much thought-provoking debate (in the room, in the courtyard, in the coffee queue); so much laughter (with the comedians chairing and during the late-night cabaret); so much dancing (on the Saturday night); and so much opportunity to try different ways of promoting the happiness of others, and therefore of others too. If you were there you will know this – and if you weren’t, we hope to see you next year. Keep looking here, or register for updates below, to find out what we’ll do next year!

Interrogate! Happiness Festival
Saturday 13th – Sunday 14th October 2012
Dartington Hall
With support from Action for Happiness

Back for another year and this time happiness is centre stage.

As autumn closes in and some of us get SAD, join us at Dartington for Interrogate! Happiness, your chance to spend a weekend looking at what makes us happy. How can we learn to be happy at work, in our families and at school? Is mindfulness the new religion when it comes to happiness? Should the government focus on gritty issues like banks and growth or is their job to make us smile?

Two days of transformative, participative and action orientated discussion, music, comedy, film and spoken word both by and for people who want to make the world a happier place. Try out laughter yoga or Tai Chi, boost your positive thinking and learn to be kinder. Interrogate! Happiness is a new way to explore an important issue and have fun while you do it, whether your interest is professional, personal or both. You can spend an hour, a day or the whole weekend with us. So forget your troubles, come on, get happy!

Featuring Anthony Seldon, Mona Siddiqui, The Baghdaddies, Daniel Bye, Maurice Glasman and many more

What’s On

In addition to workshops, performances and provocation panels, we have…

Artist Residencies
We have commissioned a range of exciting artists to respond to the theme of Happiness. Look out for impromptu performances from pop up puppets to delirious dancers across the festival!

Find The Words
Across the festvial, writers taking part in a residency led by Spread the Word and Phrased & Confused will add their contribution to the festival. Expect short performances, ‘scratch’ ideas and provocations.

The SCHED Lectures
A field, a bright orange shed, a row of chairs and a soap box. This is the Schumacher College Education (SCHED) Lectures. Each speaker has 15 minutes of fame to talk about ‘HAPPINESS’. No more no less… Using the power of expression alone… Watch it live, or streamed on the web or catch up on Twitter. This is where it all kicks off!
