Remarkable, innovative and a centre for new ways to create positive social change. Dartington is the hub for new initiatives in the arts, social justice and sustainability. Place is at the heart of what we do at Dartington. A unique and inspirational setting offering a priceless freedom where ideas can be incubated, tested, and turned into projects that make a difference.
At the heart of the Dartington Experiment begun by the Elmhirsts is a commitment to finding innovative solutions to the pressing problems of our time. That commitment is part of the Dartington heritage — and a vision that we want to continue into the 21st Century.
But we need your support to continue our important work.
We judge ourselves by the difference we make, the new thinking we stimulate, and the support we give to remarkable individuals who make ideas happen and bring about positive social change.

Arts
Continuing our vision of making Dartington a renowned arts centre. The Dartington arts programme will include a creative incubator for a broad spectrum of arts programming: from digital media and film, to performance, world music, and a range of classical and contemporary music.
Social justice
Building on our commitment to social justice to provide practical solutions to local government on critical social problems including safeguarding at risk children and families. Building a community for those aged 55 and above where they can enjoy an Abundant Life that allows them to be active participants in their local community, as well as providing the care they need to support them humanely through the end of their lives.
Sustainability
Creating an international centre in sustainability education and finding solutions to the challenge of leading a more sustainable life. Schumacher College is one of the leading education centres in sustainability, and we want to expand the courses we offer nationally and internationally to individuals and businesses both at Dartington and through a new online Open Learning programme.
