Set amongst 1000 acres of farmland and ancient deer parkland, there are many breathtaking views along the lovely walks that take you into the magnificent gardens and beside the river Dart.
With the coast only eight miles away and within easy reach of Dartmoor, this has to be the ideal base from which to explore South Devon.
There are 51 bedrooms within the 14th century medieval Courtyard, most of which, retain their original character. From beamed ceilings to an etching of a 15th century Spanish galleon carved onto a wall, history can be discovered all over the Courtyard and Gardens.
Originally built for John Holand, half brother to Richard II, in 1388, Dartington Hall has been called the most spectacular mansion in Devon. It is the largest medieval house in the west of England, with its collection of 12th century buildings has been architecturally famous since 1930.
There is a wide range of accommodation; twin, double, suites and singles, many of which are en-suite. Visit the Dartington Hall website for more details on the types of accommodation available on the Estate and how to book
