Gardens Office

Designed in 1929 by Rex Gardner, the Estate Architect, for use as a playhouse for Dorothy and Leonard Elmhirst’s children.

A cottage garden was laid out around the playhouse and on the lower terrace there was a swing and a sandpit.

Thereafter, this thatched two-storey building became, and remains, the office of the Gardens Manager.

The gardeners office is found 110 metres south of Dartington Hall.

It is a grade II listed building (click here to find out more about what listing means).

The exterior of the building is open to the public.
