This pair of attached lime-kilns was built in the early to mid 19th century. They are built into the bank with access at a higher level at the rear for loading.
The Trust received a grant from DEFRA Countryside Stewardship scheme in 2003 to restore the lime kilns.
Situated on the site of the Cider Press Centre, behind Tridias Toyshop and before Dartington Pottery, the lime kilns at Shinners Bridge are grade II Listed (click here to find out more about what listing means).
The Cider Press Centre site is open to the public as a retail centre, and the Lime Kilns are at lower end of the site adjacent to the Bidwell Brook, along the cycle track between Dartington and Totnes.
