Barbara King appointed Managing Director of Dartington Trading Company

The Dartington Hall Trust announces today the appointment of Barbara King as Managing Director of the Dartington Trading Company Limited, known as the Cider Press Centre.

Barbara brings a wealth of retail and business experience to Dartington. Having started her career in retail with the John Lewis Partnership, Barbara has held buying and merchandising director roles for a number of high street names, including Liberty, the General Trading Company, Jenners of Edinburgh and most recently, the Beales group.

Barbara will take up her new position at the beginning of March 2010. Until then, Lisa Porter will continue as interim Managing Director.

Commenting on the appointment, Vaughan Lindsay, Chief Executive Officer of The Dartington Hall Trust said, “Barbara has a very strong track record in the retail business and I believe she will be a tremendous asset to the Dartington Trading Company.”

“I wish her every success in her new management role with us,” he added.

Barbara King confirmed, “Having been an admirer of the Cider Press Centre for many years while on visits to Devon, I am delighted to be joining the Dartington Trading Company.

“These are challenging but exciting times in retail, and I see many opportunities to enhance the unique shopping experience for customers at the Cider Press Centre.”
