Summer School Courses - Week 4

16 August to 23 August
Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, long associated with the Summer School, and its Director from 1980 to 1984, now Master of the Queen’s Music, returns to lead the advanced composition course, together with a retrospective of his many ‘Dartington works’. Our cycle of the Haydn Masses continues with the Theresienmesse Mass, alongside Mendelssohn’s great choral symphony – Lobgesang. Alexander Volkov is remembered with The Israel Piano Trio, and his son Ilan Volkov. We also ‘give our regards to Broadway’ with a new course in musical theatre.
