‘Award-winning jazz ensemble 6pac’ return to run a week long intensive jazz course for young musicians aged 12-19. Big band, jazz combo, improvisation classes and more will build your experience, skills and knowledge of all things jazz. Working with one of the country’s leading ensembles, every student will also have a one-to-one lesson during the week and perform in the Ariel Centre theatre with 6pac at the end of the course.
Those attending will need to have instrument ability of grade 3 and above but no previous jazz experience is necessary. The ability to read music however would be a definite advantage.
On enrolment you’ll need to supply details of your instrument*, instrumental ability and previous experience in order for 6pac to arrange music and activities for the specific group. The course is designed to develop skills in jazz musicianship and jazz ensemble performance.
*Limited numbers of some instruments
Andrew Stamatakis-Brown | Gavin Barras | Russell Bennett | Kenji Fenton | Ben Gray | Richard Wigley
