Virtuoso fiddle player Joe Broughton, Director of the Birmingham Conservatoire Folk Ensemble heads up a team of the most inspirational tutors on the folk and world music scene today to bring you a raucous week of high energy workshops, instrumental tuition, big ensemble projects and much more… Improve your own playing, learn to work in a group and even just make stuff up that you think sounds good! FOLKWORLD will give you an insight into some of the most exciting, infectious and popular music in the world in a completely practical and enjoyable way. You do not need to have any prior experience of playing folk music, playing by ear or writing music. WARNING: THIS IS A NON-PRESCRIPTIVE COURSE. PLEASE BRING YOUR IMAGINATION!

Performances will be held at the end of the week at Dartington International Summer School and the Ariel Centre, Totnes.

FOLKWORLD for is any instrument, at any level except for beginners. (approx grade 3 standard required)
