About this event

New from Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham) comes this exuberant comedy drama, inspired by journalist Sarfraz Manzoor’s youthful obsession with Bruce Springsteen.

Luton, 1987: Javed (Viveik Kalra) is a sensitive teen struggling to cope with his racially intolerant hometown and inflexible father until he discovers the music of ‘the Boss’, and begins to find the courage to express himself. Evocative and upbeat, Blinded by the Light features vivid musical sequences and a winning performance by Kalra, backed by a wider ensemble cast including Rob Brydon, Hayley Atwell, Meera Syal and Sanjeev Bhaskar.

“takes you to that place where pop can be everything” Owen Bleiberman, Variety
