About this course
Saturday 22 June, 10- 5 pm
Saturday 14 September 10 – 5 pm
Whether you’re grabbing a reusable tote bag to take to the grocery store or need a good-sized bag for your next holiday, these heavy duty Canvas Tote Bags are perfect for hauling around groceries, personal items and everything in-between.
Join Alice Wood who will show you how to make a pattern for a tote bag that you can take home and re-use. Skills learnt will include pattern making, cutting, machine stitching, rivet setting and fitting handles.
Using your pattern, you will cut your design from a choice of washed heavy duty canvas and stitch them together.
The design principle behind byAliceWood is that form follows function, and there is beauty in simplicity; natural organic shapes lend themselves to the soft tactility of leather and canvas
Alice graduated in 3D design from Loughborough University launching byAliceWood in 2012 after years of working with leather, developing and honing her making and designing skills.

Visiting Dartington Hall
Dartington is an old place with a new story.
The Dartington Experiment began in 1925 and was based on the idea that humans are many-sided – and how we need environments that encourage our whole being to flourish, in connection with nature and each other.
This idea is as true today is it ever was.
