About this course

13 September, 7-9pm

Are you interested in the importance of utopian dreams to make positive change to shape our future? The power of having a vision for a better world and being changeMAKERS?

Join us for an exciting visionary evening as part of Heritage Open Days week (13-22 September). Heritage Open Days is England’s largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,500 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers.

What exactly is the Craftivist Collective?

The Craftivist Collective is exactly that – a collective, an inclusive group of people committed to using thoughtful, beautiful crafted works to help themselves and encourage others be the positive change they wish to see in the world.
But it started with just one person: Sarah Corbett, an award-winning campaigner with 30 years’ practical experience as an activist.

Join the movement

Today the award-winning Craftivist Collective has thousands of members, who Sarah supports by developing tools and projects that they can undertake as individuals or by organising their own small group stitch-ins. Sarah has also delivered talks, workshops and events to over 12,000 people around the world. Her first book, A Little Book of Craftivism, came out in 2013 and a more in-depth guide, ‘How to be a Craftivist: the art of gentle protest’ has just been released.

Visiting Dartington Hall

At our 1,200 acre estate, based in South Devon, there’s plenty to explore – from the natural beauty of the grounds, to our visitor attractions and year-round events programme. You can also make a stay of it with our historic hotel or campsite, and enjoy award-winning food and drink in our cafes and restaurants.

About us

Dartington is an old place with a new story.

The Dartington Experiment began in 1925 and was based on the idea that humans are many-sided – and how we need environments that encourage our whole being to flourish, in connection with nature and each other.

This idea is as true today is it ever was.
