A classic American play about memory, money and truth.

In her New Orleans mansion, the wealthy and reclusive Violet Venable grieves over the sudden death of her beloved son, Sebastian. Only her niece – Catherine – knows the truth about what really happened last summer and is traumatised by it. Her story is not one Mrs Venables wants to hear, but how far will she go to silence Catherine? Will money and medicine buy better memories? The truth, it seems, is dangerous for them both and exposes a dark history none of them wants to believe.

About us

Dartington is an old place with a new story.

The Dartington Experiment began in 1925 and was based on the idea that humans are many-sided – and how we need environments that encourage our whole being to flourish, in connection with nature and each other.

This idea is as true today is it ever was.
