About this event

Dusk and dawn have always been magical times of day and night, when the usual reliability of our daytime vision is brought into question. The forest is the most ancient of places, within which our evolution as a species is entirely entangled.

Join us around the fire for this gathering of souls. Bring something to share, to read, to eat and drink.

The ash tree, a species native to this land, is in trouble. Because of our relentless search for certainty and comfort this most mythical of trees – known as “the tree of life” to the old peoples of this place – is dying.

What responses are sparked in us when we consider such things, and in what ways is the grief we feel for our loved ones when their existence is threatened related to the sorrow we feel for the wider more-than-human world in this day and age?

Coupling dusk and dawn with the animate vitality of the forest as well as bringing a willingness to listen and learn, we humbly approach such big questions for the times we are living in.

Bring some warm clothes and a blanket for a special evening in the woods with friends.
