About this event

Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche and OutKast’s André Benjamin star in Claire Denis’s (Beau Travail, 35 Shots of Rum) English language debut, a stylish tale of criminals in deep space.

To avoid imprisonment, Monte (Pattinson) volunteers for a mysterious space-bound mission. In a self-contained spaceship floating further and further from home he and fellow crooks Boyse (Mia Goth), Tchemy (Benjamin) undergo increasingly disturbing experiments organised by the ship’s doctor Dibs (Binoche), until the balance of power begins to give way. Daring and visually arresting, High Life is another spectacular achievement from the incredibly versatile Denis; reconfiguring a traditional sci-fi to create a startlingly fresh and take on the short-comings of human nature.

★★★★★alternately disturbing, intellectually stimulating, scary, erotic, and revolting collection of moments” Matt Zoller Seitz, RogerEbert.com

About us

Dartington is an old place with a new story.

The Dartington Experiment began in 1925 and was based on the idea that humans are many-sided – and how we need environments that encourage our whole being to flourish, in connection with nature and each other.

This idea is as true today is it ever was.
