About this event

Presented by Totnes Early Music Society, in partnership with Dartington Arts.

A welcome return for one of our most popular ensembles! Joglaresa explores the roots of Iberian song – from the motets from the convent of Las Huelgas, and Arab-Andalusian ballads, to Judeo-Spanish romanzas. With medieval and traditional instruments from Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, the members of Joglaresa perform songs, kept alive through centuries of tradition – a colourful and timeless kaleidoscope of Occident and Orient and the 11th to the 21st century.

Visiting Dartington Hall

At our 1,200 acre estate, based in South Devon, there’s plenty to explore – from the natural beauty of the grounds, to our visitor attractions and year-round events programme. You can also make a stay of it with our historic hotel or campsite, and enjoy award-winning food and drink in our cafes and restaurants.

We are a charity, and over the past few years we have begun to revitalise our vision, purpose and impact as an experimental project. As a member, you’ll feel much more a part of our work, helping us to create a Dartington that is fit for the 21st century and is a model and test-bed for a sustainable society.
