About this event
As part of Tara Franks’ week-long SoundsCreative Lab course at Dartington Music Summer School, join us for two standalone workshop sessions suitable for children aged 8+ and their adults.
Sunday 6 August, 2.30 – 4pm
SING!
This relaxed, fun and family-friendly session (suitable for children 8 years and over and their adults) focuses on ‘finding your voice’ by singing together in a cappella folk song learnt by ear.
Monday 7 August, 2.30 – 4pm
DRUM!
This sessions focusses on percussion and body percussion – find your rhythm in this family-friendly, intergenerational session (suitable for children 8 years and over and their adults).
For a longer, more immersive course, join Tara’s four-day (Tuesday 8th to Friday 11th August, 2.30pm daily) short course, exploring rhythm, the basics of improvisation and working together to devise a piece of original music, with an optional informal sharing on the Friday.
