About this event

A brand new one day dance festival in the South West dedicated to novice dancers.

Taking place in the beautiful surroundings of Dartington Hall, this dance festival has been created to encourage young people and aspiring dancers to develop confidence and belief in themselves; giving them the tools to move forward to enter open dance sections.

Jennifer Haley will be the dance adjudicator for this year’s dance festival. Jennifer trained in London from the age of five, with Tory Morgan, Maude Wells & Letty Littlewood; three inspiring teachers. She competed in many dance festivals in London & the South East and, as a teacher, entered pupils in local festivals. She has been a Federation and All England Adjudicator for nearly thirty years.

A dancer is able to enter this festival if they haven’t won their solo dance at another dance festival in the UK. For full details on who can enter the festival and how it all works, please visit the official event website here.

Visiting Dartington Hall

At our 1,200 acre estate, based in South Devon, there’s plenty to explore – from the natural beauty of the grounds, to our visitor attractions and year-round events programme. You can also make a stay of it with our historic hotel or campsite, and enjoy award-winning food and drink in our cafes and restaurants.

We are a charity, and over the past few years we have begun to revitalise our vision, purpose and impact as an experimental project. As a member, you’ll feel much more a part of our work, helping us to create a Dartington that is fit for the 21st century and is a model and test-bed for a sustainable society.
