About this event
Directed by Academy Award winner Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire) and scripted by Richard Curtis (Four Weddings and a Funeral), Yesterday is a wacky, winning, immensely enjoyable comedy-drama with a fantastical premise.
A struggling singer-songwriter, Jack’s (newcomer Himesh Patel) fortunes are fading – despite the loving support of his best friend Ellie (Lily James) – until, after a mysterious global blackout, he realises that somehow, all record of The Beatles’ existence has been wiped out and only he remembers them. Performing songs by the greatest band in history to a world that has never heard them, Jack becomes a musical megastar overnight. But can he make it last?
**** “Imagine no Beatles, it’s not easy even if you try.”
Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian

Visiting Dartington Hall
Dartington is an old place with a new story.
The Dartington Experiment began in 1925 and was based on the idea that humans are many-sided – and how we need environments that encourage our whole being to flourish, in connection with nature and each other.
This idea is as true today is it ever was.
