The third annual Thinking of You Week has arrived (Monday 26 September – Sunday 2 October) – a national campaign designed to harness the power of greetings cards to create a wave of love, caring and happiness.
Science has shown that the act of receiving a handwritten card makes people feel far more special than when they receive a text, e-mail or Facebook message. In fact, cognitive neuroscientist Dr Lynda Shaw firmly believes that receiving cards can help to stave off feelings of loneliness and isolation, increase self-esteem and even help to ward off the early stages of depression.
So why not take part and make someone feel special? Send a card to a different person each day during the week – you could say hello, make them smile or simply say ‘thinking of you’. To make your mission easier, if you buy 7 greetings cards in our Stationery shop between 26 September and 2 October, you’ll receive the cheapest one free so pledge to spread the wave of wellbeing today!
