Work is currently underway on a new 5 year funding and investment plan to deliver Dartington Hall Trust’s transformation strategy.
The strategy is to focus on delivering a world-class learning programme, attracting audiences to top quality arts and cultural events, and engaging visitors and the local community in the heritage of the estate – including the historic buildings, Grade 2* listed gardens, deer park, woodland and more. As part of the development of the new strategy, the decision was taken in March 2019 that there were a handful of freehold properties held as part of the Trust’s historic property portfolio that were no longer central to its core vision. These included Webbers Yard (on the market from 31 July), the Lescaze Offices (sold subject to contract), and Lower Tweed Mill (sold subject to contract).
Dartington Hall Trust offered to sell the freehold of Webbers Yard to a consortium of commercial tenants who currently run businesses there, but unfortunately it has not been possible to take this forward for a variety of reasons. The Trust therefore has had to move forward with its plan to sell the freehold of Webbers Yard on the open market through an open and transparent process.
