At the Summer School, as much as 30% of our musical programme relies on charitable donations. Every year we must fundraise to deliver this artistic programme and offer access opportunities for young music students.
For 2019, we are seeking your support across several key areas – including helping our bursary students fund their Summer School experience, supporting our vital volunteer team, and a very special project to mark Joanna MacGregor’s last year as director.
Support bursaries for Baroque Students
The Summer School’s Baroque Orchestra has a strong reputation within the Baroque training world, providing one of the few intensive learning experiences of its kind. Your support will help provide bursaries to young musicians to access this opportunity.
Support The Rite of Spring
In an extraordinary first for Dartington – and to mark Joanna MacGregor’s final year as Artistic Director of the Summer School – 83 orchestral players are set to squeeze into our Great Hall to perform Stravinsky’s hugely influential piece, The Rite of Spring. Your donation will support young conducting students play a part in this remarkable experience, giving them the help they need to further their musical careers.
Support our Production Volunteers
Production volunteers – or ‘trogs’, as they are affectionately known – are the backbone of the summer school, supporting its delivery in an intensive week while developing essential skills and experience in administering and running a busy summer school and festival programme. Your donation will help support and inspire the next generation of young students as they start out in their career in the arts.
