SSE Dartington is a beautiful partnership between The Dartington Hall Trust and the School for Social Entrepreneurs which helps 1,000 people a year develop the skills, strengths and networks they need to tackle society’s biggest problems.
The School for Social Entrepreneurs Hub at Dartington provides training, co-working space and opportunities that enable people with entrepreneurial ideas to achieve positive change in their communities.
In addition, our programmes can provide the support you need to progress your enterprise – whether your business is established, just starting out or still at the ideas stage. That support might come in the form of funding, learning opportunities, workspace, or something else entirely – but if you’re someone who wants to make a difference in your community, we offer a range of opportunities to explore.
Many of our programmes are made possible through our partners and funders.
Don’t forget, if you want to enquire about something that isn’t on this page, you can contact the Dartington Social Enterprise Hub at email@example.com / 01803 87290. If you’re looking for workspace, click here.

Rise from the Rank Foundation
Our new Trading Development Programme combines match trading grants with a learning programme to assist the advancement of social enterprise in Plymouth. Match Trading grants help socially-driven organisations build more sustainable futures: they incentivise social entrepreneurs to grow by focusing on sales and trading, by matching increases in trading income with grant funding. This programme is run together with the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) Dartington, with support from Plymouth City Council Social Enterprise Investment Fund.
Accelerating Womens Enterprise (AWE) is a project that seeks to support disadvantaged women in to enterprise and to increase the sustainability of struggling early stage women-owned and led businesses.
If you are interested in this project, please contact Dirk via firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Hub: A co-working community
If you have been thinking about getting an office, or if you would like to work in an inspiring place where you can meet other businesses, then working from the SSE Hub Dartington could be for you.
In March 2019 we are launching the top floor of building at Lescaze offices as a co-working space tailored to business for purpose. At SSE Dartington we have been running programmes to help individuals and businesses to increase their skills, knowledge, strengths and networks for a decade. But we know that – alongside our programmes – changemakers need ongoing places to work, meet, connect and continue learning.
By opening up our workspace, we aim to create an environment that is tailored to help people do good in their work: to work more effectively; to connect to people with aligned values; and to continue accessing learning opportunities. We don’t limit this to ‘social entrepreneurs’ – we welcome anybody with a vision to make society better, however they do this through work or play.
We will offer very affordable full-time, part-time and casual membership options to become part plus access to weekly events and practical facilities including a postal address, printing and Wifi, refreshments and more.
We are launching on 18th-22nd March 2019 and will have amazing discounts for people joining during that week.
