Refunds, Exchanges and Reservations
All tickets must be paid for in advance of the event. Unfortunately, we are unable to reserve tickets for payment upon arrival. Any unpaid reservations may be released 24 hours before the scheduled event.
Where possible, we are happy to exchange your tickets for another performance or screening of the same event, provided we receive at least 48 hours’ notice.
We do not offer refunds. However, if a film or event is fully booked and we have a waiting list, the box office may be able to resell your tickets. In this case, we will issue you with a credit note. Please note this service is discretionary and not guaranteed.
In the event that a performance or screening is cancelled by Dartington Trust, full refunds or credit notes will be offered.
Babies
In the Barn Cinema, babies under the age of two are welcome to attend BarnKids screenings only, provided they sit on an adult’s lap for the entire duration and do not occupy a seat. The film must be classified as U, PG, or 12A. Please note that age classifications also apply to babies.
Live Events and Age Suitability
Admission to live events is at the discretion of the parent or guardian. We do, however, provide recommended age guidance based on content suitability, visual or auditory effects, and levels of understanding. Please speak to the box office if you are unsure about the suitability of an event.
We kindly ask all visitors to consider the experience of others. If your baby becomes restless or noisy, please take steps to minimise disruption.

Courtyard Rooms Terms and Conditions
These terms form the agreement between Dartington Trading (Courtyard Rooms) and you, the client. By confirming a booking, you accept these terms in full.
1. Prices
All published rates are inclusive of VAT and local service charges at the prevailing rate. Courtyard Rooms reserves the right to change prices at any time up to the date of booking, or up to 12 weeks prior to arrival—whichever is later. After this point, prices may only be altered due to changes in VAT, taxes, or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, you will be notified, and you may cancel your booking without penalty.
2. Availability
All room bookings and rates are subject to availability. Certain rates, packages or promotions may have limited availability, and once allocated rooms are fully booked, remaining rooms may be offered at higher prices.
3. Bookings
To secure a booking, a valid credit or debit card, a non-refundable deposit, or a written agreement with an approved organisation (such as a travel agent or booking agency) is required. Full pre-payment may be required for certain packages or at the discretion of Courtyard Rooms.
4. Arrival and Departure
Rooms are typically available from 3.00pm on the day of arrival. Check-out is by 10.00am on weekdays and 11.00am at weekends. During busy periods, room access may be delayed while cleaning is completed, though all other facilities will be available.
5. Cancellations, Amendments and Non-Arrivals
Cancellations or changes must be made by emailing guestservices@dartingtonhall.com or using the 'cancel' option in your booking confirmation email. When your booking is confirmed, you will be issued a reservation number—please retain this for reference.
Bookings may be cancelled up to 2.00pm, 48 hours prior to arrival, in which case a full refund will be issued, minus a £10 processing fee. Cancellations made after this point, or in the event of non-arrival, will incur a charge equal to the first night’s stay. We reserve the right to charge this amount to the credit card used for the booking without prior approval.
Please note, we no longer offer a Flexible Rebooking Policy or Covid-19 exceptions. The above cancellation terms apply to all bookings.
If Courtyard Rooms cancels your booking more than 48 hours before arrival, our liability will be limited to the amount you have paid. If cancellation occurs within 48 hours of arrival, we will refund the cost of one night’s stay. While we may assist in finding alternative accommodation, we are not obliged to do so and accept no liability in this regard.
6. Payment
Payment must be settled in full prior to departure. Upon arrival, we may request a pre-authorisation of your credit or debit card. All major cards are accepted. If credit facilities have been pre-agreed in writing, accounts may be invoiced, though this is not available for private individuals. All payments are due upon presentation of the invoice.
7. Smoking Policy
In accordance with UK law, smoking is not permitted in any interior space, including guest rooms, public areas or corridors. A cleaning fee will be charged to guests who breach this policy to cover the cost of removing tobacco odour from furnishings.
8. Single Rooms
Single rooms are designed for single occupancy only.
9. Accessibility
We offer modified facilities for disabled guests. As individual needs vary, please contact us in advance to discuss your requirements before booking.
10. Children
Children aged 15 and under must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult. We do not offer interconnecting rooms; therefore, children must stay in the same room as an accompanying adult. Participation in certain events may be restricted based on suitability for younger guests.
11. Televisions
Our rooms do not include televisions to help ensure a peaceful, restful stay.
12. Pets
We do not permit pets, except for registered guide dogs.
13. Food and Drink
Guests may not bring food or drink onto the premises for consumption or sale without written consent. Charges may apply for any such arrangements.
14. Liability and Damages
We accept no liability for failure to perform due to events beyond our control. We do not accept responsibility for theft or damage to vehicles or valuables. Valuables may be stored in the reception safe on request (please note this facility may not always be available).
We reserve the right to charge for any damage caused by negligence or misconduct. If damage is discovered after departure, we may charge the registered credit or debit card or issue an invoice to the guest’s address. We will always seek to minimise any such charges.

Suitability and Safety
This location is a natural, riverside setting and may involve inherent risks. It is not suitable for children or guests with limited mobility. Access to the mezzanine sleeping area is via a steep ladder and should only be used by able-bodied individuals.
The river flows quickly and may be dangerously cold, even in summer. A lifebuoy is available on site, but caution is essential.

A wood burner is available inside the cabin. This must not be left unattended and must be fully extinguished before departure. Only use the fire pit, BBQ, stove or hob for controlled fires to avoid the risk of spreading fire to nearby woodland.
