Things to do

At Dartington, you’ll have easy access to our glorious Grade 2* listed gardens, the best in local and seasonal food and drink at our restaurant and cafés, a wide film programme at our unique 15th century Barn Cinema (currently closed due to Covid-19), a shopping centre packed with unique gifts and treats for everyone, and much more.

Amanda Bellamy

The crystal-clear River Dart runs through the Dartington estate, offering opportunities for canoeing and other outdoor pursuits – or you can simply stroll along the riverbank via our many miles of woodland paths.

Dartington is also the ideal base for exploring Devon.  Exeter and Plymouth are easily accessible via the nearby A38, and between the two lies the stunning, windswept landscapes and rocky tors of Dartmoor National Park. Travelling in the opposite direction will lead you to the pretty seaside towns of Torbay, including Torquay and Brixham, and many miles of spectacular coastal paths.
