Emerging Talent

Graham Fitkin Band

We are committed to supporting emerging talent, providing regular public showcase events, space to develop work, workshops, and masterclasses. Opportunities available include Summer School bursary scheme, Shoot! Film Festival, and Immerse programme.

Dartington is a great place to spend time with the family, and provides a welcoming environment to introduce young children to the arts. On offer there are family films, and on Saturdays the BarnKids Film Club, live events specially selected with children in mind.

‘Outside In’

We strive to provide our audiences with the opportunity to see the very best national and international work on their doorstep, bringing a wide variety of artists to the region through our live event and Summer School programmes. We work with many of these visiting artists to offer workshops and masterclasses to local artists and students. Our independent Cinema screens arthouse, world and mainstream cinema, seven days a week.

Regional Talent

We’re passionate about the South West being a place where artists can live and make work, contributing to the resources and opportunities available. In addition to offering the largest collection of studio facilities in the region, we regularly include SW based artists in our live event programme. We work closely with other organisations to enhance our joint offer in the region. Dartington is also host to a creative hub of arts organisations on the estate including Aune Head Arts, Encounters, and Soundart Radio. The Dartington Community Choir, and Playgoers Society of Dartington Hall welcome new members to get involved.

Sustainability & Social Justice

We are increasingly working with artists whose practice resonates with Dartington’s other charitable programmes Social Justice and Sustainability. Recent projects include English Touring Opera residency in Channings Wood Prison, Unsane Rhapsody, and Geoquest. Keep an eye on our online diary for details of forthcoming films, debates, live events and festivals.
