About this course
Join the man behind The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project for a day exploring how to harness the power of local communities to realise your own ground breaking ideas.
The day course will include a presentation from Tim in the morning sharing his concept of “muscular localism”, followed by discussion and practical sessions to help you devise and plot out your own projects in this field.
Tim Smit is fizzing with ideas from fermentation to making vegan ‘dairy’ products, stranded transport assets and the shortcomings of tertiary education, to the wonders of mushroom-based textiles. He cuts through the doom and gloom, making a passionate case for a green enlightenment that reframes the climate and nature crises as opportunities to change for better. We are delighted to welcome him back to the College to share his wisdom and to help new ideas spring to life.
“The future that I see coming towards us is extreme. Extreme, because it will transform the way we eat, the way we provide energy, the way we transport ourselves, the medicines we use.”

Course fee includes tea and coffee.
Please bring your own lunch or book lunch separately at Schumacher College (£12.50)
